How do I hire a Contractor?

This article shows you how to add a Contractor in the Oyster Platform.

Our virtual hiring assistant, Pearl, is there to help you every step of the way!

Prerequisites

  • You have Admin access to your company's account.
  • You are logged in to the Oyster Platform with your admin credentials.

Steps

  1. Click Hire > Start hiring.
  2. Click the Select a country drop-down menu and select your Contractor's country.
  1. Scroll down and click Contractor.
  1. Enter details about your Contractor.
  • 1/4 New Contractor Details
    • Name 
    • Email 
    • Click Continue
  • 2/4 Role information 
    • Job title
    • Job description
    • Start date
    • Click Continue
  1. Click Send invite to invite the Contractor to the Oyster Platform. 

If you supplied your own contract, the Contractor is fully onboarded once they have completed the following: 

  • Create an Oyster account 
  • Complete the onboarding form 
  • Complete the payment method 
  • Note: signature is not required

If you used Oyster's contract, continue below.

Before proceeding, the Contractor must do the following:

  • Create an Oyster account
  • Complete the onboarding form
  1. Click Share to send the contract for signature.
  2. Once both parties sign the contract, the Contractor is considered fully onboarded!

The contract is saved in your Team Member's Documents tab.
