I have SSO enabled on my account, can I also enable 2FA?

If you already have Single Sign-On (SSO) enabled on your account, we will verify your identity through your identity provider and we will not require a second form of authentication. This means that you won't be able to set up Two-Factor Authentication and you will encounter this error message:

Can I enable 2FA using my e-mail address and an authenticator app?

You can only enable one authentication method at a time. We highly recommend using an authenticator app because it has the highest level of security. 

Why is 2FA mandatory for me?

Starting in February 2026, 2FA is mandatory for all Oyster account, with the exception of users who use Single Sign On (SSO). This measure has been taken to add an extra layer of protection to your account, in line with industry standards. 

The enforcement is done gradually, meaning that you will see a countdown until the time of enforcement. Here's what you will see when you login:
