Personio | Obtaining your Client ID and Client Secret

In this article, we help you obtain your Personio Client ID and Secret.


  • You have completed Steps 1-5 of Connecting Personio to Oyster
  • You have Admin access to your company’s Personio account.
  • You are logged in to Personio with your Admin credentials.


  1. Click Settings in the bottom left corner.
  1. On the Settings page, find the Integrations tile and click API credentials.
  1. Click the Generate New Credential button. The Integration window appears.
  2. Type a name for the integration.
  3. For Integration, select Other.
  4. Select Read for the following employee attributes:

  • Email
  • Personal Email
  • First name
  • Last Name
  • Employee ID
  • Gender
  • Nationality
  • Birthday
  • Martial status
  • Street and house number
  • City
  • Postcode
  • Department
  • Employment type
  • Postion
  • Supervisor
  • Fixed salary
  • Hourly salary
  • Salary interval
  • Salary type
  • Hire date
  • Office
  • Termination date
  • Termination reason
  • Termination type
  1. Your API Credentials populate. Copy and save these in a secure place!

  1. Return to the Personio integration in your Oyster account to add your Client ID and Client Secret.
