BambooHR | API Key Authentication

In this article, we help you locate your BambooHR API key so you can finish integrating BambooHR with Oyster.

Prerequisites

  • You have completed Steps 1-5 of Connecting BambooHR to Oyster
  • You have Admin access to your company’s BambooHR account.
  • You are logged in to BambooHR with your Admin credentials.

Steps

  1. Select I want to use my API Key or Access Token and click Next.

  1. Type your BambooHR subdomain name in the text box and click Submit.

  1. BambooHR opens. Click on your name in the upper right-hand corner of any page.
  2. Select API Keys.
  1. Click the Add New Key button.
  1. Type a name for the API key then click Generate Key.
  1. Copy the API key that appears.
  1. Return to the BambooHR integration page in Oyster and paste the copied API key in the text field.

    To paste, right-click in the text field and select Paste.

  2. Click Submit.

  1. BambooHR is now integrated with Oyster and appears on the My integrations tab.

Email addresses are used to match team members between Oyster and BambooHR. Once the initial match is made your HRIS becomes your primary source of truth where you will be able to update employee information.
