FAQ for Team Members - Netherlands Migration to Oyster owned entity

  1. What is the process to transfer my employment from the third-party employer in Netherlands and onboard into the Oyster-owned entity / Oyster Direct?
    The migration is designed keeping a seamless experience for you in mind. Here is how the transfer and onboarding process will pan out:

    We will share a draft of novation agreement and a new employment agreement which will require your signature. These documents are filled out with your current remuneration and a clause acknowledging your continuous employment, seniority, and the right to take vacations accrued during the period when you were employed with the third-party employer.

    After the documents mentioned above are signed by each of the parties your employment will be transferred to an Oyster-owned entity on a date indicated in those documents.

  2. How will the migration affect health benefits?
    There will be no impact on health benefits. You will continue to be enrolled with the previously enrolled provider.

  3. How will the migration affect accrued holidays and holiday allowance?
    At the end of the employment with the third-party employer, all unused vacation days will be carried over to Oyster. You will be able to use them from the moment you are transferred to Oyster Netherlands.

    Holiday allowance will be respected and assumed by Oyster and be paid to you at the regular time that Oyster pays holiday allowance to team members.

  4. What will happen to any bonuses or allowances?
    Bonuses and allowances accrued during periods preceding the transfer and which were supposed to be paid up till the date of transfer, will be paid by the third party employer upon transfer.

    Bonuses and allowances which are payable for periods after the transfer will be paid by Oyster.

  5. How will the migration affect disability insurance (WIA)?
    We will continue to provide disability insurance equivalent to that provided by the third-party employer.

  6. How will the migration affect pension contributions?
    There will be no impact on pension contributions. It will continue to be paid at 15.8% of your contracted salary.

  7. What will be the timeframe between offboarding from the local partner and onboarding into the Oyster-owned entity?
    The offboarding from the local partner and onboarding into the Oyster entity will go hand-in-hand and there will be no gap in salaried days.

  8. Will my September payroll be impacted?
    There will be no changes on the payroll front.

  9. What is the timeframe for the transfer from the local partner and onboarding into the Oyster owned entity?
    The migration will take place between Sept 22nd - Oct 31st. Here is an approximate timeline:

22nd Sept - Mid Sept

You receive pre-migration communication

Mid Sept - Mid Oct

You sign a new employment agreement with Oyster Netherlands.

Mid Oct - 31st Oct

You are onboarded into the Oyster owned entity at the end of the salary month with the third party employer.
